Fitness Design Group is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our specialized team. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of architecture, fitness, and wellness—designing spaces that directly impact how people move, perform, and live.

This position is open for an early-career designer (1–2 years’ experience) or a more experienced candidate.  Either must possess an understanding of strong architectural fundamentals and a genuine interest in wellness environments. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow within a niche design practice and be mentored by an experienced senior team.

About the Role

As an Architectural Designer at FDG, you will support and manage key aspects of fitness and wellness design projects across both commercial and luxury residential environments. You’ll be trained in our proprietary design methodologies and contribute to delivering thoughtful, executable solutions for a diverse client base.

This is a fully remote position within a distributed U.S. team. We value autonomy, accountability, and strong communication in a work-from-home environment.

What You’ll Do

• Support the design and development of fitness and wellness facilities across multiple sectors
• Collaborate with FDG’s design and client experience teams to deliver tailored project solutions
• Develop zoning diagrams and 2D spatial plans (equipment layouts, electrical and data considerations, mirrors, anchoring, etc.)
• Assist in preparing and presenting design concepts to clients
• Contribute to projects across a wide range of sectors including boutique fitness, health clubs, private clubs, multifamily, hospitality, corporate wellness, education, and luxury residential
• Stay informed on evolving trends in fitness, recovery, and wellness design
• Represent the FDG brand with professionalism, energy, and attention to detail

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1–2 years of professional experience in architectural design
• Degree in Architecture or related design discipline
• Proficiency in Revit (preferred) and/or AutoCAD
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work across multiple projects
• Clear communication skills and comfort participating in client-facing presentations
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment

FitnessDesignGroup (FDG) is seeking an individual to join our specialized team as a 3D Designer.

At FDG, your role will consist of creating 3D visualizations of the gyms we design.  You will be trained in our process and methodologies and coordinate with our team towards creating isometric and interior perspectives to align with a client’s unique equipment layout and interior design details.

Ideal candidates are skilled in 3D modeling & rendering software(s) and have a bit of passion for fitness.  We are looking for an individual who is a self-starter and wants to learn and grow.  You must bring an excellent attention to detail, possess strong project management skills, and can operate in a fast-paced environment. This role will report to FDG’s Director of Design and/or Sr. Designer(s).

Responsibilities:

• Utilize client’s 3D Revit models when necessary, or create client’s space in 3D by referencing architectural drawing set
• Incorporate into the model all fitness equipment, texture all elements of the room, model/place lighting, and create views for rendering
• Manage both short and long duration projects
• Work within market segments of residential housing, multifamily housing, corporate wellness, medical, education, hospitality, club, and studio markets.
• Professionally represents the FitnessDesignGroup brand with energy and enthusiasm.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Highly skilled in 3ds Max*
• Highly skilled in using V-Ray, Corona, and/or other rendering engine(s)
• Familiarity or expertise surrounding other design software (Revit knowledge is a definite plus)
• Highly desirable if you can create flythroughs and animations of 3D environments
• Organizational skills to work on many projects simultaneously
• Self-Starter. Able to identify and anticipate tasks

Personal Interest:

A passion and appreciation for the effect of stunning visuals. An enthusiasm for health and fitness based facilities and their subsequent impact on the quality of life of those that use them is also a plus. 

General knowledge around fitness/wellness.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

This position is remote, anywhere within the United States (with optional Hybrid work from Corporate HQ in Santa Monica, CA) and will require a suitable work from home environment.
