Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea has officially unveiled Kai Holo Spa, introducing a comprehensive new wellness destination that thoughtfully integrates movement, recovery, performance, and longevity into the guest experience.

The opening marks the completion of a multi-year transformation that extends well beyond the spa itself. Complementing Kai Holo Spa is an expanded and reimagined collection of fitness, movement, and outdoor training environments, creating a more connected approach to wellness across the resort.

Fitness Design Group led the wellness planning and fitness environment design for the resort’s expanded fitness center, new Movement Studio—a dedicated space for yoga, Pilates reformer, guided movement, and restorative programming—and outdoor training environments, working alongside Four Seasons Resort Maui, MDR Architects, Meyer Davis, and the resort’s spa leadership throughout the project’s multi-year development. Together, the project team created an integrated collection of wellness spaces that seamlessly extends the vision established by Kai Holo Spa while supporting Four Seasons’ continued commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

The expanded offering includes reimagined fitness spaces featuring a curation of the latest performance based equipment, enhanced strength and functional training capabilities, advanced body composition analysis, the new Movement Studio, and thoughtfully integrated outdoor training environments that embrace Maui’s natural landscape. Together, these experiences create a natural progression from movement and performance to recovery and restoration, allowing wellness to become an integral part of every guest’s stay.

For FDG, the project reflects the continued evolution of wellness within luxury hospitality. Increasingly, fitness is no longer planned as a standalone amenity but as one component of a broader ecosystem that also includes recovery, movement, spa, and longevity programming. Delivering that experience requires close coordination across architecture, interior design, wellness planning, operations, and guest programming from the earliest stages of a project.

A Collaborative Vision

From the earliest planning phases, the project was developed as a fully integrated design effort, bringing together architecture, interior design, wellness planning, spa operations, and guest programming around a shared vision.

Working alongside the teams at MDR Architects and the internationally recognized design studio Meyer Davis, every aspect of the fitness and movement environments was carefully coordinated to complement the resort’s architectural character, interior design language, operational objectives, and guest experience. The result is a collection of spaces that feels cohesive from one experience to the next, allowing guests to transition naturally between movement, recovery, and relaxation.

The opening of Kai Holo Spa at Four Seasons Resort Maui marks the latest of several Four Seasons wellness design engagements currently led by Fitness Design Group, joining the recent modernization of the Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina, and the upcoming Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Jacksonville, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Deer Valley, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe, The Ocean Club, Four Seasons Residences, Bahamas, and Four Seasons Resort Nevis. Together, these engagements span both the wellness elevation of of existing resort amenities and the creation of entirely new wellness destinations.
